About the event

We have teamed up with Trauma Informed Schools UK to offer a training session to our staff on our INSET day on the 6th January 2025. We are opening limited places to schools in the borough. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. We will be holding the second session on a future date.

The TISUK vision and aims for the training session:

On average children wait 10 years to get help for a mental health problem. (The Centre for Mental Health Report: Missed Opportunities: Children and Young People’s Mental Health 2016). So, schools are left holding the baby. Yet research shows that many teachers feel frightened and de-skilled about working with child mental health issues.
