Salary & Hours: £17.00PH, Monday - Thursday, 9.00 am - 12.15 pm

Contract Type: Self Employed

Start Date: September 2025, with the possibility of some casual hours prior to the start date.

Are you passionate about supporting young people who have struggled in mainstream education? We are seeking an Emotional & Social Support Worker to join our unique Forest School. This role involves working outdoors with children aged 5–16 who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.


This position is perfect for a former youth worker, teacher, or teaching assistant. We need someone with strong experience supporting young people with additional needs. You will help implement our behavior strategies, support emotional regulation, and create a nurturing outdoor learning environment where every child can thrive.


Key Responsibilities


In your role, you will:


  • Support and implement behavior strategies tailored to individual needs.

  • Assist children in regulating their emotions effectively.

  • Foster an engaging, safe outdoor learning atmosphere.

  • Build trusting relationships that empower students.


Qualifications and Experience


We’re looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:


  • Experience: Relevant SEMH experience and a trauma-informed approach.

  • Skills: Exhibit resilience, calmness, and consistency in challenging situations.

  • Empathy: Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.

  • Passion: A genuine excitement for outdoor learning and holistic education.
